Viking: Battle for Asgard

Product description:

Viking: Battle for Asgard is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Creative Assembly. The player takes on the role of Skarin, a young warrior chosen by the goddess Freya to stop the onslaught of the undead. The game is heavily inspired by Norse mythology and combines epic battles with stealth, combat, and exploration. Players conquer territories, liberate allies, and take part in massive battlefields where hundreds of warriors fight simultaneously. The visual style is raw and grim, with a focus on brutal sword fighting and grand confrontations.

3 interesting facts:

1. Massive real-time battles
The game introduced large-scale combat in which hundreds of enemies appeared on screen at once — a rarity for console hardware at that time.

2. No traditional HUD
To enhance immersion, Viking uses a minimalist interface. Health and energy are conveyed visually through animations and color changes, rather than standard meters.

3. From stealth to brute force
The gameplay offers variety: you can sneak around and undermine enemy camps, or seek confrontation in direct combat. Recruiting troops and unleashing dragons on enemies are key tactical elements.
