Cole McGrath finds himself in the midst of a catastrophic explosion in Empire City. The bizarre disaster destroys a large part of the immense city and leaves Cole, unlike many of his fellow citizens, without physical injury. The energy released by the explosion suddenly gives Cole special electrostatic powers against his will. What initially feels very unfamiliar soon proves to be an asset during the journey of survival through the completely uprooted and destroyed urban environment where chaos, riots, and crime are rampant. Like hunted prey, the player with Cole must try to survive in a completely unpredictable environment; life-threatening danger can lurk around every corner.
