Cole McGrath finds himself in the middle of a catastrophic explosion in Empire City. The bizarre disaster destroys a large part of the immense city and leaves Cole, unlike many of his fellow citizens, without physical injury. The energy released by the explosion unexpectedly and against his will grants Cole special electrostatic powers. What initially feels very alien quickly proves to be an advantage during his journey of survival through the completely uprooted and devastated urban environment where chaos, riots, and crime run rampant. As hunted prey, the player, as Cole, must try to survive in a completely unpredictable environment; a life-threatening danger can lurk around every corner.
