Borderlands Game of the Year Edition

Borderlands is set on Pandora, a gigantic planet where colonists have landed with their ships. These ships have become towns, seven of which are on the planet. Pandora is a typical frontier in space. It is dangerous, located in a remote corner, and dirty creatures roam everywhere, thinking of only one thing: food. So, if you don't have a good reason to visit the area, it's best not to.

There's another reason for this. The planet Pandora is so large that its seasons last a very long time. The colonists didn't consider this when they landed on the planet. However, when the game begins, it's spring, which means some monsters are emerging from their hibernation. The colonists are suddenly confronted with new life forms they have never seen before.

Due to the presence of dangerous monsters and pirates, it's a good idea not to venture outside the colonist towns. However, the player is a mercenary and will therefore have to face the dangers. On Pandora, the player is completely free in their choices. They decide where to go, how to do it (on foot or with vehicles), and which missions to accept.

The game plays as a first-person shooter but also falls into the RPG genre. Character development therefore plays an important role. The player decides which skills to improve (for example, aiming accuracy or speed). The weapon of choice also has a significant impact on gameplay. Players can always find new weapons, as there are hundreds of thousands of different ones in Borderlands. Each weapon has different properties.

Although the game can be played entirely by one person, it was also developed for cooperative play with four people. Gamers can work together, for example, to capture a criminal leader or steal an alien artifact from a pirate encampment.
