Grand Theft Auto: Vice City takes place about twenty years before Grand Theft Auto III and takes you back to the eighties, which brought the world more money, more glamour, more big cars, but also more drugs, crime, and decadence. Meet Tommy Vercetti, a gangster from Liberty City who has been active in the criminal underworld for a considerable time and has just served a 15-year prison sentence.

Forced to leave Liberty City behind, Tommy moved to Vice City, where he is tasked by a Sonny Forelli to significantly expand the criminal empire of the Forellis. He is given a substantial sum of money for this, which he loses during his very first assignment, thus incurring the wrath of Sonny Forelli.
