Need for Speed: Underground 2 plunges you into the world of illegal street racing, surpassing its predecessor by allowing you to explore a fully open city: Bayview. The game revolves around speed, style, and customization, with a deep focus on personalizing your car down to the smallest detail.

You start with a humble car, but as your reputation grows, you can unlock new parts, upgrades, and cosmetic options. From engine components to spoilers, rims, neon kits, and decals — you decide how your car looks and drives.

The city is divided into several districts that you gradually unlock. There are six race types, including circuit, sprint, drag, drift, street X, and the new URL (Underground Racing League). Races take place in both daylight and at night, under various weather conditions.

1. Open world: This was the first Need for Speed game with a fully open world. You have to drive to races, discover shops, and find secret parts in Bayview yourself.

3. No police: Unlike other installments in the series (such as Hot Pursuit), there are no police chases in Underground 2. Everything here revolves around street racing culture.
