Based on John Carpenter’s 1982 cult classic, The Thing is a third-person survival horror shooter that serves as a direct sequel to the film. You play as Captain Blake, a soldier sent to the devastated Antarctic Research Station to investigate what happened. Soon you find yourself face to face with grotesque mutations, paranoia among your team members, and a deadly alien threat. Trust is your most scarce resource.

1. Unique trust and fear mechanics
   Your teammates — fellow soldiers, engineers, and medics — react to your behavior. If they don't trust you, they refuse orders or may even panic. One wrong decision can lead to paranoia… or betrayal.
2. Grotesque mutations & infection checks
   Anyone can be infected. Even your most loyal team member can suddenly turn into a monster. You can perform blood tests to check who is still human — but you don't always have enough…
3. Canon sequel to the film with fan service
   The game picks up where the film ends and contains subtle references to the original. Even R.J. MacReady’s fate is revealed, offering The Thing fans a rare piece of closure.
