Red Faction: Guerrilla is set on Mars in the year 2125. You play as Alec Mason, a miner who joins the resistance group Red Faction. Their goal: to drive the oppressive Earth Defense Force (EDF) from the planet. What follows is a violent guerrilla war, with tactical attacks, sabotage, and devastating explosions.

The game distinguishes itself with its fully destructible environments. Buildings, bridges, and other structures can all be razed to the ground—and that's the intention. Whether you use a tank, plant explosives, or simply swing your sledgehammer, the world reacts physically and dynamically to your actions.

• Geo-Mod 2.0 engine: The game uses an advanced physics engine that allows players to destroy almost any structure in the game. No scripted collapses, but realistic, dynamic damage based on where you hit or shoot.
