Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is a third-person shooter with a surprising amount of personality and firepower. You play as Glitch, a rebellious robot who joins the resistance in a war against the evil Mil-Bots army. With an arsenal of upgradable weapons, destructive vehicles, and humorous dialogue, the game offers a fresh and explosive experience in a mechanical world powered by metal, bullets, and chaos.

 

Three interesting facts:

  1. Sleeper Cult Classic
    While it received little commercial attention upon release, Metal Arms grew into a cult favorite thanks to its solid gameplay, challenging difficulty, and unique style. Many fans consider it one of the most underrated shooters on the original Xbox.
  2. Advanced AI and Physics
    The game surprised players with enemies who could cooperate, take cover, and react to sounds. Additionally, you could temporarily take control of enemy robots with the Control Tether – a tactical element far ahead of its time.
  3. Developed by Swingin’ Ape Studios
    The game was made by a small studio that delivered such impressive work that they were acquired by Blizzard Entertainment after this title. They briefly worked on StarCraft: Ghost, which was eventually canceled.
