This basketball simulation combines realistic gameplay with intuitive controls, aimed at a broad audience of both casual and serious players.     Inside Drive 2002 appeared in the first year of the Xbox launch and was Microsoft's first proprietary basketball game, intended to compete with titles like NBA Live and NBA 2K.
  2. Awarded for player animations and AI
    The game was praised for its fluid animations and team AI. Players moved realistically without everything being tied to scripted movements, and the computer-controlled opponents played surprisingly smartly for that time.
  3. No create-a-player, but strong season mode
    Unlike competitors, an extensive career or player creation mode was missing, but this was offset by a robust Season Mode with realistic statistics, trades, and team management.
