Product Description:

Killzone is a first-person shooter developed by Guerrilla Games and released for the PlayStation 2 in 2004. The game is set in a futuristic world where humanity is divided into two factions: the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance (ISA) and the militaristic Helghast Empire. When the Helghast launch a surprise attack on the planet Vekta, a group of soldiers must unite to fight back. Killzone offers intense firefights, atmospheric environments, and a story filled with political tensions and moral ambiguities.

  1. Dutch origin: Killzone was developed by Amsterdam-based Guerrilla Games and was one of the first major international successes for a Dutch studio. It laid the foundation for their later hit, Horizon Zero Dawn.
  2. Four playable characters: In the single-player campaign, you can switch between four team members at certain points, each with unique weapons and playstyles – such as the heavy infantryman Rico or the stealth-oriented Luger.
  3. "Halo-killer" reputation: Upon announcement, Killzone was positioned as Sony's answer to Microsoft's Halo franchise. Although the game received mixed reviews, it was praised for its visual impressiveness and grew into a long-running PlayStation franchise.
