The God of War Collection for the PlayStation 3, released in 2009, features remastered versions of the first two installments in the "God of War" franchise: God of War and God of War II, originally for the PlayStation 2. Both games were upgraded to 720p HD with smoother framerates and support for PlayStation Trophies. In these action-adventure games, players follow Kratos, a Spartan warrior on a bloody journey to defeat the gods of Greek mythology.
Fun fact: The God of War Collection was the first PS2 HD remaster released for the PS3, and its success led to a trend of HD collections of popular PS2 games.
